The following article lists all known unused content found in Croc: Legend of the Gobbos from the final game and prototypes.

Unused Levels in the Final Game[]

By tampering with the file maps.idx of the PC version of Croc it is possible to gain access to all maps that exist in the game files, many of them are the normal used maps and many others just crash the game but some of them that are not seen in the normal game can be accessed.

00 - Default Blank Map A piece of land with Brown Bricks. In some of the area, Croc can walk on air. He has infinite lives. Does not show HUD.

01 - Default Blank Map A forest area, with some removed walls and floors. Croc can fall of the area and land on solid thin air. When he approaches land above him, he 'jumps' onto it. It contains rocks (removed), Push Boxes, a Gobbo, pieces of log, non-interactive Well and non-interactive cave exits.

02 - Default Blank Map An arena not seen anywhere else in the history of the game, containing 8 crysals and a hole in the middle, causing Croc to die slowly falling down differently to normal death.

03 - Water Test Map Just an underwater area.

04 - Flibby Test A test of Flibby, with a textured floor and no walls. Upon defeating Flibby, she will flash and 2 crystals will appear. 10 seconds later, the Features screen shows.

05 - Test Boss Dante An arena with a non textured Dante, in which he spins around in one spot along with a crystal. Croc can go through him without harm. The crystal cannot be picked up.

06 - Default Blank Map Similar to 01, except there is a large platform, rocks and a Beany Bird which is seen flying around. Outside the arena are two Red Poppers which jump and swap places. Croc cannot interact with them, as they are under the land above which causes Croc to 'jump' on it.

The second contains several cracked platforms over Lava and a Gobbo. The third contains Monkey bars, cracked platforms, Smash Box, Button and a Gobbo in a Cage. Completing the level brings up the same level on the Map Screen.

The first exit is a cave which contains a Smash Box in the air. pits of Lava, Smash Boxes and 2 Red Poppers, leading to a second area outside, with Red Poppers, etc. One cave contains a Directional Platform.

Many enemies were unused in Croc:Legend of the Gobbos, some of them can still be found in the betas.

Blue Dragonfly Blue version of the Red Dragonfly, it can only be found on the ice island.

Red Popper A small red enemy that looks similar to the Firepopper from the final game with the difference that it is red instead of orange and it can't shoot fireballs so its only way of attack is by touch.

Blue Popper Blue version of the Red Popper, it can only be found on the ice island.

Green creature This creature can be found on the Desert Island, it is green, big and has an open mouth. Its way of attack is unknown as Croc is unable to interact with it.

Ice Imp Appears only on the Ice Island. It has a throwing animation similar to the Ice Dantini but doesn't actually throw anything.

Fish (This may not actually be an enemy) These fish appear on the Ice Island and jumps out of the icy water and then back again.

Pelican This enemy is seen in the intro of the final game but not in the game itself, in the Tech Demo though it is present on the first room and will hurt Croc upon touching him.

Tooty the Feeble Tooty originally started as a regular enemy before turning into a guardian. Also initially he was much shorter than in the final game.

Red creature (Paul) This red creature appears in the level "Paul Test 1" which is where it gets its name. Croc is unable to interact with it.

Many objects/features were unused in Croc:Legend of the Gobbos, some of them can still be found in the betas.

Beany gong  In the Tech Demo there is no Gong, to end a level Croc just goes through a door that only unlocks after he has rescued all of the Gobbos in the level. In the beta the Gong makes it's first appearance, it is lacking the Beany face however and just has the word "GOAL" written on it.

Colored Crystals Colored Crystals initially had a completely different use than in the final game, only a red Crystal existed which when picked up would give Croc 5 normal Crystals
BONUS Letters The letters B,O,N,U and S were scattered around the levels, sometimes disguised as normal Crystals, once Croc gathered all of them he could unlock the BONUS door at the end of a level. These letters were replaced by the colored Crystals and the BONUS door was replaced by the Crystal Door.

Red/Blue sacks Red and blue sacks were found in many locations in both the Tech Demo and the Beta, once Croc touched them he gained an extra life. They were eventually replaced by the hearts in the final game.
Trees and plants  There are a lot of trees and plants found in the beta version of Croc, some of them appear in the game but most of them don't.

Smash Boxes The original design for the Smash Box was a grey box with no textures on it, it also appeared as a transparent box made of ice on the Ice Island. In the Tech Demo when Croc smashes one of these boxes the crystals are scattered around him.

Clams These were found in the underwater areas of the beta version, they open when Croc get's close to them and they release a crystal.

Electricity  This is a removed hazard, it followed a specific path and would damage Croc upon contact.

Snowboarding  A removed game mechanic is snowboarding, there were levels where Croc would be able to use a snowboard to slide, some of these levels can still be accessed but without a snowboard.

Platform with a Metal Box

This platform is identical to a normal platform with the exception that it has a metal box on it, weighing it down, making it unable to move until the box is moved.

Large Tilting Platform

This platform is twice the size of any other platform. It's normal form is red with 8 arrows pointing in different directions. It can also be disguised as a normal platform. When Croc steps on the platform, it starts tilting.
